Yankees Beat White Sox 8-3

The New York Yankees did battle with the the Chicago White Sox yesterday at New Yankee Stadium with the Yankees victorious 8 to 3. It was a huge win that rooters with Yankees tickets aren’t likely to forget. You never know what you’ll see at a baseball game so get your cheap tickets today!

Yankees pitcher Alfredo Aceves (3.88 ERA) got the win, while Freddy Garcia (5.94 ERA) took the loss for the White Sox. Joba Chamberlain went 3 innings for the Yankees, allowed 4 hits, no home runs and 2 earned runs with no walks and one strikeout. Also pitching for the Yankees was Damaso Marte (10.57), David Robertson (3.55), Phil Hughes (3.22), and Phil Coke (5.13). The White Sox’s starter Freddy Garcia went 6 innings, allowed 4 hits, one home run and 3 earned runs with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. Randy Williams (7.84), and Scott Linebrink (3.94) also pitched for the White Sox. With the win, Aceves’s record goes to 9-1, while Garcia drops to 0-2.

Mark Teixeira provided much of the offense for the Yankees with an incredible 4 runs batted in. In addition to the 8 runs, the Yankees put up 9 hits and committed no errors. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Yankees, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. Scott Podsednik had the most hits for the White Sox (3), followed by Alexei Ramirez (2). The White Sox mustered 3 runs, 9 hits and no errors.

Umpiring duties were performed by Tim Timmons, Mark Wegner, Rick Reed and Jeff Kellogg. There were 46,664 Yankees ticket holders in attendance at New Yankee Stadium.

The win puts the Yankees at a record of 82-48, still leading their division, while the loss brings the White Sox to 64-67, (6 games behind first place in the division).
